I had a chance to test and compare two models: Sony HT-G700 vs LG SP7R and this review should help people who are looking for a good soundbar. The Sony HT-G700 was rated 6.2, while the LG SP7R has a rating 5. The soundbars are equipped with a different number of buttons, power, volume down, volume up, input, Bluetooth for the HT-G700 and power, source, demo, volume down, volume up for the SP7R.

Audio features

Each of the models under consideration has active amplification type. A noticeable difference is the number of channels that HT-G700 has 3.1 and SP7R has 7.1. These rivals can be compared in terms of power, 400 (overall) versus 580 (overall) according to devices. The built-in subwoofer is not implemented in any of these models. An external subwoofer can be connected to any of the units in this comparison. Rate 7 out of 10 received the Sony HT-G700 for audio features and specs, but the LG SP7R received 8 out of 10.

Streaming services

Soundbars do not have AirPlay support. The units in this comparison do not support Spotify.

Connectivity

Both models do not have a wireless Wi-Fi interface. Soundbars from this comparison have Bluetooth support. 1/1 HDMI inputs/outputs are in each of soundbars. As in the HT-G700, so in the SP7R there is the HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC). Connecting devices via USB is possible in both models. We rated the connectivity of the HT-G700 at 8 out of 10, while the SP7R was rated 7/10.

Features

None of these soundbars can be controlled using the app. Soundbars in this review are not equipped with a microphone. The models under consideration cannot become part of a multiroom system.

Multichannel surround

Dolby Atmos audio decoder is onboard the HT-G700. The HT-G700 can work with surround sound due to DTS:X support. The HT-G700 was rated 10/10, while the SP7R received a mark of 6/10 for multichannel surround.
