The soundbars are equipped with a different number of buttons, play/pause, volume up, volume down for the Playbar and power, input, Bluetooth, music service, volume down, volume up for the HT-CT800.
Each of the models under consideration has active amplification type. A noticeable difference is the number of channels that Playbar has 3.0 and HT-CT800 has 2.1. The manufacturer of the Playbar provides a device control application. Soundbars in this review are not equipped with a microphone. The Sony HT-CT800 may become part of a multiroom system.
Dolby Atmos audio decoder support is not implemented in either the Playbar or HT-CT800. Devices from this comparison cannot process surround sound due to lack of DTS:X. DTS Virtual:X technology not supported by any of the soundbars in this review.
