l would like to share my experience after comparing and testing two soundbars – LG SN8YG vs LG SNC4R. The LG SN8YG was rated 6.8, while the LG SNC4R has a rating 5.2. The soundbars are equipped with a different number of buttons, power, volume down, volume up, function, play/pause, microphone for the SN8YG and power, volume down, volume up, function for the SNC4R.
Each of the models under consideration has active amplification type. A noticeable difference is the number of channels that SN8YG has 3.1.2 and SNC4R has 4.1. These rivals can be compared in terms of power, 440 (overall) versus 420 (overall) according to devices. The built-in subwoofer is not implemented in any of these models. An external subwoofer can be connected to any of the units in this comparison. Audio features and specs of considered models we rated 7 out of 10 in our ranking.
Soundbars do not have AirPlay support. The units in this comparison do not support Spotify.
Wireless Internet connection is realized only in the SN8YG. Soundbars from this comparison have Bluetooth support. The HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC) is implemented only in the SN8YG. Connecting devices via USB is possible in both models. We rated the connectivity of the SN8YG at 8 out of 10, while the SNC4R was rated 6/10. Each of the soundbars can be controlled using the application. The LG SN8YG equipped with a microphone. The models under consideration cannot become part of a multiroom system.
Dolby Atmos audio decoder is onboard the SN8YG. The SN8YG can work with surround sound due to DTS:X support. The SN8YG was rated 10/10, while the SNC4R received a mark of 5/10 for multichannel surround.
