l would like to share my experience after comparing and testing two soundbars – Samsung HW-S40T vs JBL Bar Studio. Both soundbars received a score of 5 in our ranking. Soundbars have the same set of buttons - volume down, volume up, power, source.
Each of the models under consideration has active amplification type. By the number of channels, the devices do not differ. These rivals can be compared in terms of power, 100 versus 30 according to devices. A built-in subwoofer is available only in the Samsung HW-S40T. Rate 6 out of 10 received the Samsung HW-S40T for audio features and specs, but the JBL Bar Studio received 5 out of 10.
Soundbars do not have AirPlay support. The units in this comparison do not support Spotify.
Both models do not have a wireless Wi-Fi interface. Soundbars from this comparison have Bluetooth support. 1/0 HDMI inputs/outputs are in each of soundbars. The HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC) is implemented only in the Bar Studio. Connecting devices via USB is possible in both models. The connectivity of each of the models was estimated at 6/10.
The manufacturer of the HW-S40T provides a device control application. Soundbars in this review are not equipped with a microphone. The models under consideration cannot become part of a multiroom system.
Dolby Atmos audio decoder support is not implemented in either the HW-S40T or Bar Studio. Devices from this comparison cannot process surround sound due to lack of DTS:X. The same score of 5/10 was put to the soundbars for multichannel surround support.
