I had a chance to test and compare two models: Samsung HW-S40T vs Samsung HW-T550 and this review should help people who are looking for a good soundbar. The Samsung HW-S40T was rated 5, while the Samsung HW-T550 has a rating 4.5. Soundbars have the same set of buttons - volume down, volume up, power, source.
Each of the models under consideration has active amplification type. A noticeable difference is the number of channels that HW-S40T has 2.0 and HW-T550 has 2.1. These rivals can be compared in terms of power, 100 versus 320 (overall) according to devices. A built-in subwoofer is available only in the Samsung HW-S40T. Audio features and specs of considered models we rated 6 out of 10 in our ranking.
Soundbars do not have AirPlay support. The units in this comparison do not support Spotify.
Both models do not have a wireless Wi-Fi interface. Soundbars from this comparison have Bluetooth support. There are 1/0 HDMI inputs/outputs in the Samsung HW-S40T versus 1/1 HDMIs in the Samsung HW-T550. The HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC) is implemented only in the HW-T550. Connecting devices via USB is possible in both models. The connectivity of each of the models was estimated at 6/10.
