l would like to share my experience after comparing and testing two soundbars – Samsung HW-Q950T vs LG S80QR. Both soundbars received a score of 8.4 in our ranking.

Audio features

Each of the models under consideration has active amplification type. A noticeable difference is the number of channels that HW-Q950T has 9.1.4 and S80QR has 5.1.3. These rivals can be compared in terms of power, 546 (overall) versus 490 (overall) according to devices. The built-in subwoofer is not implemented in any of these models. An external subwoofer can be connected to any of the units in this comparison. Rate 9 out of 10 received the Samsung HW-Q950T for audio features and specs, but the LG S80QR received 8 out of 10.

Streaming services

Each of the competitors can play content from Spotify.

Connectivity

Both models have a wireless Wi-Fi interface. Soundbars from this comparison have Bluetooth support. There are 2/1 HDMI inputs/outputs in the Samsung HW-Q950T versus 1/1 HDMIs in the LG S80QR. As in the HW-Q950T, so in the S80QR there is the HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC). Connecting devices via USB is possible in both models. We rated the connectivity of the HW-Q950T at 8 out of 10, while the S80QR was rated 10/10. The manufacturer of the HW-Q950T provides a device control application. The Samsung HW-Q950T equipped with a microphone. The Samsung HW-Q950T may become part of a multiroom system.

Multichannel surround

Manufacturers equipped both units with Dolby Atmos audio decoder. Units from this comparison can process surround sound due to DTS:X support. The HW-Q950T was rated 9/10, while the S80QR received a mark of 10/10 for multichannel surround.
