Bose Smart Soundbar 300 vs JBL BAR 700 review

l would like to share my experience after comparing and testing two soundbars – Bose Smart Soundbar 300 vs JBL BAR 700. The Bose Smart Soundbar 300 was rated 7.6, while the JBL BAR 700 has a rating 8.8. The soundbars are equipped with a different number of buttons, microphone, action for the Smart Soundbar 300 and power, volume down, volume up for the BAR 700.

Audio features

Each of the models under consideration has active amplification type. A noticeable difference is the number of channels that Smart Soundbar 300 has 3.0 and BAR 700 has 5.1. The built-in subwoofer is not implemented in any of these models. An external subwoofer connects to the Smart Soundbar 300 via wired and wireless, but BAR 700 has wireless connection type. Rate 5 out of 10 received the Bose Smart Soundbar 300 for audio features and specs, but the JBL BAR 700 received 8 out of 10. Each of the competitors can play content from Spotify.

Connectivity

Both models have a wireless Wi-Fi interface. Soundbars from this comparison have Bluetooth support. There are 1/0 HDMI inputs/outputs in the Bose Smart Soundbar 300 versus 1/1 HDMIs in the JBL BAR 700. As in the Smart Soundbar 300, so in the BAR 700 there is the HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC). We rated the connectivity of the Smart Soundbar 300 at 8 out of 10, while the BAR 700 was rated 10/10. Each of the soundbars can be controlled using the application. The soundbars in this review are equipped with a microphone. The Bose Smart Soundbar 300 may become part of a multiroom system.

Multichannel surround

Dolby Atmos audio decoder is onboard the BAR 700. Devices from this comparison cannot process surround sound due to lack of DTS:X. The Smart Soundbar 300 was rated 4/10, while the BAR 700 received a mark of 7/10 for multichannel surround.
