l would like to share my experience after comparing and testing two soundbars – Yamaha YSP-5600 vs JBL BAR 700. The Yamaha YSP-5600 was rated 8,4, while the JBL BAR 700 has a rating 8.8. The soundbars are equipped with a different number of buttons, input, volume down, volume up, power for the YSP-5600 and power, volume down, volume up for the BAR 700.
Each of the models under consideration has active amplification type. A noticeable difference is the number of channels that YSP-5600 has 7.1.2 and BAR 700 has 5.1. These rivals can be compared in terms of power, 128 (overall) versus 620 (overall) according to devices. A built-in subwoofer is available only in the Yamaha YSP-5600. Rate 7 out of 10 received the Yamaha YSP-5600 for audio features and specs, but the JBL BAR 700 received 8 out of 10. Each of the competitors can play content from Spotify.
Both models have a wireless Wi-Fi interface. Soundbars from this comparison have Bluetooth support. There are 4/1 HDMI inputs/outputs in the Yamaha YSP-5600 versus 1/1 HDMIs in the JBL BAR 700. As in the YSP-5600, so in the BAR 700 there is the HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC). Connecting devices via USB is possible in both models. We rated the connectivity of the YSP-5600 at 9 out of 10, while the BAR 700 was rated 10/10.
Each of the soundbars can be controlled using the application. The soundbars in this review are equipped with a microphone. The Yamaha YSP-5600 may become part of a multiroom system.
Manufacturers equipped both units with Dolby Atmos audio decoder. The YSP-5600 can work with surround sound due to DTS:X support. The YSP-5600 was rated 8/10, while the BAR 700 received a mark of 7/10 for multichannel surround.
