l would like to share my experience after comparing and testing two soundbars – Bose Soundbar 700 vs Samsung HW-N650. The Bose Soundbar 700 was rated 6.6, while the Samsung HW-N650 has a rating 7.6. The soundbars are equipped with a different number of buttons, action, microphone for the Soundbar 700 and volume down, volume up, input, power for the HW-N650.
Each of the models under consideration has active amplification type. A noticeable difference is the number of channels that Soundbar 700 has 3.0 and HW-N650 has 5.1. The built-in subwoofer is not implemented in any of these models. An external subwoofer connects to the Soundbar 700 via wired and wireless, but HW-N650 has wireless connection type. Rate 6 out of 10 received the Bose Soundbar 700 for audio features and specs, but the Samsung HW-N650 received 7 out of 10.
The Bose Soundbar 700 is equipped with AirPlay 2, but the Samsung HW-N650 has AirPlay on board. Each of the competitors can play content from Spotify.
Wireless Internet connection is realized only in the Soundbar 700. Soundbars from this comparison have Bluetooth support. 1/0 HDMI inputs/outputs are in each of soundbars. As in the Soundbar 700, so in the HW-N650 there is the HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC). We rated the connectivity of the Soundbar 700 at 6 out of 10, while the HW-N650 was rated 7/10. Each of the soundbars can be controlled using the application. The soundbars in this review are equipped with a microphone. The Samsung HW-N650 may become part of a multiroom system.
Dolby Atmos audio decoder support is not implemented in either the Soundbar 700 or HW-N650. Devices from this comparison cannot process surround sound due to lack of DTS:X. The Soundbar 700 was rated 4/10, while the HW-N650 received a mark of 6/10 for multichannel surround.
