I had a chance to test and compare two models: ZVOX SB380 vs Sony HT-S350 and this review should help people who are looking for a good soundbar. The ZVOX SB380 was rated 4, while the Sony HT-S350 has a rating 5. The soundbars are equipped with a different number of buttons, power, volume down, volume up, input for the SB380 and power, volume down, volume up, Bluetooth, TV for the HT-S350.
Each of the models under consideration has active amplification type. A noticeable difference is the number of channels that SB380 has 3.1 and HT-S350 has 2.1. These rivals can be compared in terms of power, 45 versus 85 according to devices. A built-in subwoofer is available only in the ZVOX SB380. Rate 6 out of 10 received the ZVOX SB380 for audio features and specs, but the Sony HT-S350 received 7 out of 10.
Soundbars do not have AirPlay support. Both devices do not have Google Play Music on board. The units in this comparison do not support Spotify.
Both models do not have a wireless Wi-Fi interface. Bluetooth support integrated in the HT-S350. The HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC) is implemented only in the HT-S350. Connecting devices via USB is not possible in both models. We rated the connectivity of the SB380 at 4 out of 10, while the HT-S350 was rated 5/10.
None of these soundbars can be controlled using the app. Soundbars in this review are not equipped with a microphone. The models under consideration cannot become part of a multiroom system.
Dolby Atmos audio decoder support is not implemented in either the SB380 or HT-S350. Devices from this comparison cannot process surround sound due to lack of DTS:X. DTS Virtual:X technology not supported by any of the soundbars in this review. The SB380 was rated 2/10, while the HT-S350 received a mark of 4/10 for multichannel surround.
