l would like to share my experience after comparing and testing two soundbars – Bose TV Speaker vs Vizio M21d-H8. Both soundbars received a score of 5 in our ranking.
Each of the models under consideration has active amplification type. A noticeable difference is the number of channels that TV Speaker has 3.0 and M21d-H8 has 2.1. A built-in subwoofer is available only in the Vizio M21d-H8. Audio features and specs of considered models we rated 5 out of 10 in our ranking.
Soundbars do not have AirPlay support. The units in this comparison do not support Spotify.
Both models do not have a wireless Wi-Fi interface. Soundbars from this comparison have Bluetooth support. There are 1/0 HDMI inputs/outputs in the Bose TV Speaker versus 1/1 HDMIs in the Vizio M21d-H8. As in the TV Speaker, so in the M21d-H8 there is the HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC). Connecting devices via USB is possible in both models. We rated the connectivity of the TV Speaker at 7 out of 10, while the M21d-H8 was rated 6/10. None of these soundbars can be controlled using the app. The Vizio M21d-H8 equipped with a microphone. The models under consideration cannot become part of a multiroom system.
Dolby Atmos audio decoder support is not implemented in either the TV Speaker or M21d-H8. Devices from this comparison cannot process surround sound due to lack of DTS:X. The TV Speaker was rated 4/10, while the M21d-H8 received a mark of 5/10 for multichannel surround.
