l would like to share my experience after comparing and testing two soundbars – Vizio V51-H6 vs Vizio M21d-H8. The Vizio V51-H6 was rated 6, while the Vizio M21d-H8 has a rating 5. Soundbars have the same set of buttons - power, volume down, volume up, source, Bluetooth.
Each of the models under consideration has active amplification type. A noticeable difference is the number of channels that V51-H6 has 5.1 and M21d-H8 has 2.1. A built-in subwoofer is available only in the Vizio M21d-H8. Rate 7 out of 10 received the Vizio V51-H6 for audio features and specs, but the Vizio M21d-H8 received 5 out of 10.
Soundbars do not have AirPlay support. The units in this comparison do not support Spotify.
Both models do not have a wireless Wi-Fi interface. Soundbars from this comparison have Bluetooth support. There are 0/1 HDMI inputs/outputs in the Vizio V51-H6 versus 1/1 HDMIs in the Vizio M21d-H8. As in the V51-H6, so in the M21d-H8 there is the HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC). Connecting devices via USB is possible in both models. The connectivity of each of the models was estimated at 6/10.
Both devices have integrated voice control via Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Siri. The manufacturer of the V51-H6 provides a device control application. The soundbars in this review are equipped with a microphone. The models under consideration cannot become part of a multiroom system.
Dolby Atmos audio decoder support is not implemented in either the V51-H6 or M21d-H8. Devices from this comparison cannot process surround sound due to lack of DTS:X. The same score of 5/10 was put to the soundbars for multichannel surround support.
