The present review is aimed to compare two soundbars - Samsung HW-LST70T vs Yamaha YAS-108 that are meant to satisfy the needs of cinema and music lovers. Based on our rating, HW-LST70T has a total rating of 6.4 out of 10 versus 6.2 for YAS-108. The competitors' control buttons are different: volume down, volume up, power, source and input, mute, volume down, volume up, power, respectively.
Both soundbars have active amplification type. A significant difference between the units in the number of channels, the Samsung HW-LST70T has 3.0 versus 2.0 for the Yamaha YAS-108. Only the Samsung HW-LST70T can connect to the Internet via WI-FI. Rivals from our review have Bluetooth support. The Samsung HW-LST70T has 1/0 HDMI inputs/outputs versus 1/1 of the Yamaha YAS-108. Only the YAS-108 supports HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC). Both soundbars have a USB connector. For connectivity, the HW-LST70T received a rating of 6/10 versus 7/10, respectively.
Both models support voice control using Amazon Alexa. App control is available in every soundbar. A built-in microphone is present in each model. Multi-room is only available for the Samsung HW-LST70T.
None of soundbars equipped with Dolby Atmos multichannel audio decoder. The soundbars do not support the surround sound technology DTS:X. For multichannel surround, each of the opponents received 5 points out of 10.
