I had a chance to test and compare two models: Sony HT-A5000 vs Samsung S50B and this review should help people who are looking for a good soundbar. The Sony HT-A5000 was rated 7.8, while the Samsung S50B has a rating 4.6.
Each of the models under consideration has active amplification type. A noticeable difference is the number of channels that HT-A5000 has 5.1.2 and S50B has 3.0. These rivals can be compared in terms of power, 450 (overall) versus 140 (overall) according to devices. A built-in subwoofer is available only in the Sony HT-A5000. Rate 8 out of 10 received the Sony HT-A5000 for audio features and specs, but the Samsung S50B received 6 out of 10.
The HT-A5000 can play audio from Spotify.
Wireless Internet connection is realized only in the HT-A5000. Soundbars from this comparison have Bluetooth support. There are 1/1 HDMI inputs/outputs in the Sony HT-A5000 versus 0/1 HDMIs in the Samsung S50B. As in the HT-A5000, so in the S50B there is the HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC). Connecting devices via USB is possible in both models. The connectivity of each of the models was estimated at 7/10.
None of these soundbars can be controlled using the app. Soundbars in this review are not equipped with a microphone. The models under consideration cannot become part of a multiroom system.
Dolby Atmos audio decoder is onboard the HT-A5000. The HT-A5000 can work with surround sound due to DTS:X support. The HT-A5000 was rated 10/10, while the S50B received a mark of 6/10 for multichannel surround.
