I had a chance to test and compare two models: Bose TV Speaker vs Samsung S50B and this review should help people who are looking for a good soundbar. The Bose TV Speaker was rated 5, while the Samsung S50B has a rating 4.6.

Audio features

Each of the models under consideration has active amplification type. By the number of channels, the devices do not differ. The built-in subwoofer is not implemented in any of these models. An external subwoofer connects to the TV Speaker via wired, but S50B has wireless connection type. Rate 5 out of 10 received the Bose TV Speaker for audio features and specs, but the Samsung S50B received 6 out of 10.

Streaming services

Soundbars do not have AirPlay support. The units in this comparison do not support Spotify.

Connectivity

Both models do not have a wireless Wi-Fi interface. Soundbars from this comparison have Bluetooth support. There are 1/0 HDMI inputs/outputs in the Bose TV Speaker versus 0/1 HDMIs in the Samsung S50B. As in the TV Speaker, so in the S50B there is the HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC). Connecting devices via USB is possible in both models. The connectivity of each of the models was estimated at 7/10.

Features

None of these soundbars can be controlled using the app. Soundbars in this review are not equipped with a microphone. The models under consideration cannot become part of a multiroom system.

Multichannel surround

Dolby Atmos audio decoder support is not implemented in either the TV Speaker or S50B. Devices from this comparison cannot process surround sound due to lack of DTS:X. The TV Speaker was rated 4/10, while the S50B received a mark of 6/10 for multichannel surround.
