Sonos Beam vs Samsung S50B review
I had a chance to test and compare two models: Sonos Beam vs Samsung S50B and this review should help people who are looking for a good soundbar. The Sonos Beam was rated 6, while the Samsung S50B has a rating 4.6.
Audio features
Each of the models under consideration has active amplification type. By the number of channels, the devices do not differ. The built-in subwoofer is not implemented in any of these models. An external subwoofer can be connected to any of the units in this comparison. Audio features and specs of considered models we rated 6 out of 10 in our ranking. The units in this comparison do not support Spotify.
Connectivity
Wireless Internet connection is realized only in the Beam. Soundbars from this comparison have Bluetooth support. There are 1/0 HDMI inputs/outputs in the Sonos Beam versus 0/1 HDMIs in the Samsung S50B. The HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC) is implemented only in the S50B. We rated the connectivity of the Beam at 6 out of 10, while the S50B was rated 7/10. The manufacturer of the Beam provides a device control application. The Sonos Beam equipped with a microphone. The models under consideration cannot become part of a multiroom system.
Multichannel surround
Dolby Atmos audio decoder support is not implemented in either the Beam or S50B. Devices from this comparison cannot process surround sound due to lack of DTS:X. The Beam was rated 4/10, while the S50B received a mark of 6/10 for multichannel surround.
