l would like to share my experience after comparing and testing two soundbars – KEF HTF7003 vs Yamaha MusicCast BAR 400. The KEF HTF7003 was rated 5, while the Yamaha MusicCast BAR 400 has a rating 8.2.
Soundbars have different amplification type - passive versus active respectively to devices. A noticeable difference is the number of channels that HTF7003 has 3.0 and MusicCast BAR 400 has 5.1. These rivals can be compared in terms of power, 100 versus 200 (overall) according to devices. The built-in subwoofer is not implemented in any of these models. Rate 6 out of 10 received the KEF HTF7003 for audio features and specs, but the Yamaha MusicCast BAR 400 received 7 out of 10. The MusicCast BAR 400 can play audio from Spotify.
Wireless Internet connection is realized only in the MusicCast BAR 400. Bluetooth support integrated in the MusicCast BAR 400. The HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC) is implemented only in the MusicCast BAR 400. We rated the connectivity of the HTF7003 at 4 out of 10, while the MusicCast BAR 400 was rated 8/10. None of these soundbars can be controlled using the app. The Yamaha MusicCast BAR 400 equipped with a microphone. The Yamaha MusicCast BAR 400 may become part of a multiroom system.
Dolby Atmos audio decoder support is not implemented in either the HTF7003 or MusicCast BAR 400. Devices from this comparison cannot process surround sound due to lack of DTS:X.
