l would like to share my experience after comparing and testing two soundbars – Bose Smart Soundbar 300 vs Samsung HW-N650. Both soundbars received a score of 7.6 in our ranking. The soundbars are equipped with a different number of buttons, microphone, action for the Smart Soundbar 300 and volume down, volume up, input, power for the HW-N650.
Each of the models under consideration has active amplification type. A noticeable difference is the number of channels that Smart Soundbar 300 has 3.0 and HW-N650 has 5.1. The built-in subwoofer is not implemented in any of these models. An external subwoofer connects to the Smart Soundbar 300 via wired and wireless, but HW-N650 has wireless connection type. Rate 5 out of 10 received the Bose Smart Soundbar 300 for audio features and specs, but the Samsung HW-N650 received 7 out of 10.
The Bose Smart Soundbar 300 is equipped with AirPlay 2, but the Samsung HW-N650 has AirPlay on board. Each of the competitors can play content from Spotify.
Wireless Internet connection is realized only in the Smart Soundbar 300. Soundbars from this comparison have Bluetooth support. 1/0 HDMI inputs/outputs are in each of soundbars. As in the Smart Soundbar 300, so in the HW-N650 there is the HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC). We rated the connectivity of the Smart Soundbar 300 at 8 out of 10, while the HW-N650 was rated 7/10. Each of the soundbars can be controlled using the application. The soundbars in this review are equipped with a microphone. The models under consideration can become part of a multiroom system.
Dolby Atmos audio decoder support is not implemented in either the Smart Soundbar 300 or HW-N650. Devices from this comparison cannot process surround sound due to lack of DTS:X. The Smart Soundbar 300 was rated 4/10, while the HW-N650 received a mark of 6/10 for multichannel surround.
