I had a chance to test and compare two models: Denon DHT-S517 vs Klipsch Cinema 600 and this review should help people who are looking for a good soundbar. The Denon DHT-S517 was rated 5.4, while the Klipsch Cinema 600 has a rating 4.8.
Each of the models under consideration has active amplification type. A noticeable difference is the number of channels that DHT-S517 has 3.1.2 and Cinema 600 has 3.1. These rivals can be compared in terms of power, 40 (overall) versus 600 (overall) according to devices. The built-in subwoofer is not implemented in any of these models. An external subwoofer connects to the DHT-S517 via wireless, but Cinema 600 has wired connection type. Rate 5 out of 10 received the Denon DHT-S517 for audio features and specs, but the Klipsch Cinema 600 received 6 out of 10.
Soundbars do not have AirPlay support. The units in this comparison do not support Spotify.
Both models do not have a wireless Wi-Fi interface. Soundbars from this comparison have Bluetooth support. There are 1/1 HDMI inputs/outputs in the Denon DHT-S517 versus 1/0 HDMIs in the Klipsch Cinema 600. As in the DHT-S517, so in the Cinema 600 there is the HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC). We rated the connectivity of the DHT-S517 at 7 out of 10, while the Cinema 600 was rated 8/10.
The manufacturer of the DHT-S517 provides a device control application. Soundbars in this review are not equipped with a microphone. The models under consideration cannot become part of a multiroom system.
Dolby Atmos audio decoder is onboard the DHT-S517. Devices from this comparison cannot process surround sound due to lack of DTS:X. The DHT-S517 was rated 7/10, while the Cinema 600 received a mark of 6/10 for multichannel surround.
