l would like to share my experience after comparing and testing two soundbars – Samsung HW-S40T vs Polk Audio MagniFi Mini AX. The Samsung HW-S40T was rated 5, while the Polk Audio MagniFi Mini AX has a rating 7.6. The soundbars are equipped with a different number of buttons, volume down, volume up, power, source for the HW-S40T and power, source, demo, mute for the MagniFi Mini AX.

Audio features

Each of the models under consideration has active amplification type. A noticeable difference is the number of channels that HW-S40T has 2.0 and MagniFi Mini AX has 3.1. These rivals can be compared in terms of power, 100 versus 10 (overall) according to devices. A built-in subwoofer is available only in the Samsung HW-S40T. Rate 6 out of 10 received the Samsung HW-S40T for audio features and specs, but the Polk Audio MagniFi Mini AX received 4 out of 10.

Streaming services

The MagniFi Mini AX can play audio from Spotify.

Connectivity

Wireless Internet connection is realized only in the MagniFi Mini AX. Soundbars from this comparison have Bluetooth support. 1/0 HDMI inputs/outputs are in each of soundbars. The HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC) is implemented only in the MagniFi Mini AX. Connecting devices via USB is possible in both models. We rated the connectivity of the HW-S40T at 6 out of 10, while the MagniFi Mini AX was rated 5/10.

Features

Each of the soundbars can be controlled using the application. The Polk Audio MagniFi Mini AX equipped with a microphone. The models under consideration cannot become part of a multiroom system.

Multichannel surround

Dolby Atmos audio decoder is onboard the MagniFi Mini AX. The MagniFi Mini AX can work with surround sound due to DTS:X support. The HW-S40T was rated 5/10, while the MagniFi Mini AX received a mark of 10/10 for multichannel surround.
