I had a chance to test and compare two models: Definitive Technology Mythos SSA-50 vs KEF HTF7003 and this review should help people who are looking for a good soundbar. The Definitive Technology Mythos SSA-50 was rated 6, while the KEF HTF7003 has a rating 5.
Each of the models under consideration has passive amplification type. A noticeable difference is the number of channels that Mythos SSA-50 has 5.0 and HTF7003 has 3.0. A built-in subwoofer is available only in the Definitive Technology Mythos SSA-50. Audio features and specs of considered models we rated 6 out of 10 in our ranking.
Soundbars do not have AirPlay support. Both devices do not have Google Play Music on board. The units in this comparison do not support Spotify.
Both models do not have a wireless Wi-Fi interface. Soundbars from this comparison do not have Bluetooth support. Neither the Mythos SSA-50 nor HTF7003 has the HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC). Connecting devices via USB is not possible in both models. We rated the connectivity of the Mythos SSA-50 at 6 out of 10, while the HTF7003 was rated 4/10.
None of these soundbars can be controlled using the app. Soundbars in this review are not equipped with a microphone. The models under consideration cannot become part of a multiroom system.
Dolby Atmos audio decoder support is not implemented in either the Mythos SSA-50 or HTF7003. Devices from this comparison cannot process surround sound due to lack of DTS:X. DTS Virtual:X technology not supported by any of the soundbars in this review.
