The present review is aimed to compare two soundbars - Sonos Playbar vs Sony HT-Z9F that are meant to satisfy the needs of cinema and music lovers. Audio features

Both soundbars have active amplification type. A significant difference between the units in the number of channels, the Sonos Playbar has 3.0 versus 3.1 for the Sony HT-Z9F. Multi-room is only available for the Sony HT-Z9F.

Multichannel surround

Only the HT-Z9F has a Dolby Atmos multichannel audio format support. A surround technology DTS:X is supported only by the HT-Z9F. Compared devices do not have DTS Virtual:X support.
