l would like to share my experience after comparing and testing two soundbars – Samsung HW-M360/ZA vs VIZIO SB3821-C6. The Samsung HW-M360/ZA was rated 5.6, while the VIZIO SB3821-C6 has a rating 4.5. The soundbars are equipped with a different number of buttons, volume down, volume up, power, input for the HW-M360/ZA and power, input, Bluetooth, volume down, volume up for the SB3821-C6.
Each of the models under consideration has active amplification type. By the number of channels, the devices do not differ. The built-in subwoofer is not implemented in any of these models. An external subwoofer can be connected to any of the units in this comparison. Rate 7 out of 10 received the Samsung HW-M360/ZA for audio features and specs, but the VIZIO SB3821-C6 received 5 out of 10. Google Play Music service is only in the HW-M360/ZA. The HW-M360/ZA can play audio from Spotify.
Both models do not have a wireless Wi-Fi interface. Soundbars from this comparison have Bluetooth support. Neither the HW-M360/ZA nor SB3821-C6 has the HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC). Connecting devices via USB is possible in both models. We rated the connectivity of the HW-M360/ZA at 5 out of 10, while the SB3821-C6 was rated 6/10.
The manufacturer of the HW-M360/ZA provides a device control application. Soundbars in this review are not equipped with a microphone. The models under consideration cannot become part of a multiroom system.
Dolby Atmos audio decoder support is not implemented in either the HW-M360/ZA or SB3821-C6. Devices from this comparison cannot process surround sound due to lack of DTS:X. DTS Virtual:X technology not supported by any of the soundbars in this review. The same score of 2/10 was put to the soundbars for multichannel surround support.
