I had a chance to test and compare two models: Samsung HW-M360/ZA vs Sony HT-S350 and this review should help people who are looking for a good soundbar. The Samsung HW-M360/ZA was rated 5.6, while the Sony HT-S350 has a rating 5. The soundbars are equipped with a different number of buttons, volume down, volume up, power, input for the HW-M360/ZA and power, volume down, volume up, Bluetooth, TV for the HT-S350.
Each of the models under consideration has active amplification type. By the number of channels, the devices do not differ. These rivals can be compared in terms of power, 100 versus 85 according to devices. The built-in subwoofer is not implemented in any of these models. An external subwoofer can be connected to any of the units in this comparison. Audio features and specs of considered models we rated 7 out of 10 in our ranking. Google Play Music service is only in the HW-M360/ZA. The HW-M360/ZA can play audio from Spotify.
Both models do not have a wireless Wi-Fi interface. Soundbars from this comparison have Bluetooth support. The HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC) is implemented only in the HT-S350. The connectivity of each of the models was estimated at 5/10.
The manufacturer of the HW-M360/ZA provides a device control application. Soundbars in this review are not equipped with a microphone. The models under consideration cannot become part of a multiroom system.
Dolby Atmos audio decoder support is not implemented in either the HW-M360/ZA or HT-S350. Devices from this comparison cannot process surround sound due to lack of DTS:X. DTS Virtual:X technology not supported by any of the soundbars in this review. The HW-M360/ZA was rated 2/10, while the HT-S350 received a mark of 4/10 for multichannel surround.
