I had a chance to test and compare two models: Samsung HW-S40T vs Yamaha YAS-107 and this review should help people who are looking for a good soundbar. The Samsung HW-S40T was rated 5, while the Yamaha YAS-107 has a rating 6.8. The soundbars are equipped with a different number of buttons, volume down, volume up, power, source for the HW-S40T and input, mute, volume down, volume up, power for the YAS-107.
Each of the models under consideration has active amplification type. By the number of channels, the devices do not differ. These rivals can be compared in terms of power, 100 versus 120 according to devices. Competitors have a built-in subwoofer. Rate 6 out of 10 received the Samsung HW-S40T for audio features and specs, but the Yamaha YAS-107 received 7 out of 10. The YAS-107 can play audio from Spotify.
Both models do not have a wireless Wi-Fi interface. Soundbars from this comparison have Bluetooth support. 1/0 HDMI inputs/outputs are in each of soundbars. The HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC) is implemented only in the YAS-107. The connectivity of each of the models was estimated at 6/10.
Each of the soundbars can be controlled using the application. Soundbars in this review are not equipped with a microphone. The models under consideration cannot become part of a multiroom system.
Dolby Atmos audio decoder support is not implemented in either the HW-S40T or YAS-107. Devices from this comparison cannot process surround sound due to lack of DTS:X. The HW-S40T was rated 5/10, while the YAS-107 received a mark of 6/10 for multichannel surround.
