The present review is aimed to compare two soundbars - Samsung HW-M360/ZA vs Yamaha ATS-1070 that are meant to satisfy the needs of cinema and music lovers. Based on our rating, HW-M360/ZA has a total rating of 6.6 out of 10 versus 6,6 for ATS-1070. The competitors' control buttons are different: volume down, volume up, power, input and input, mute, volume down, volume up, power, respectively.
Both soundbars have active amplification type. A significant difference between the units in the number of channels, the Samsung HW-M360/ZA has 2.1 versus 2.0 for the Yamaha ATS-1070. The output power is different and equal to 200 W for the HW-M360/ZA versus 120 W for the ATS-1070. Only the Yamaha ATS-1070 has a built-in subwoofer. The Samsung HW-M360/ZA got our rating of 7 out of 10, and the Yamaha ATS-1070 6 for its audio features and specs.
Each of rivals supports AirPlay. Spotify is available on each of the soundbars. Both devices can play streaming audio from Pandora, Tuneln, Deezer, Chromecast.
Both models do not have WI-FI support. Rivals from our review have Bluetooth support. Only the ATS-1070 supports HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC). For connectivity, the HW-M360/ZA received a rating of 5/10 versus 6/10, respectively.
App control is available in every soundbar. None of the models under consideration have a built-in microphone. Multi-room is only available for the Samsung HW-M360/ZA.
None of soundbars equipped with Dolby Atmos multichannel audio decoder. The soundbars do not support the surround sound technology DTS:X. For multichannel surround Samsung HW-M360/ZA got a rating of 4, and Yamaha ATS-1070 6 out of 10.
