Samsung HW-S40T vs VIZIO SB4451-C0 review

l would like to share my experience after comparing and testing two soundbars – Samsung HW-S40T vs VIZIO SB4451-C0. The Samsung HW-S40T was rated 5, while the VIZIO SB4451-C0 has a rating 7.2. The soundbars are equipped with a different number of buttons, volume down, volume up, power, source for the HW-S40T and power, input, Bluetooth, volume down, volume up for the SB4451-C0.

Audio features

Each of the models under consideration has active amplification type. A noticeable difference is the number of channels that HW-S40T has 2.0 and SB4451-C0 has 5.1. A built-in subwoofer is available only in the Samsung HW-S40T. Rate 6 out of 10 received the Samsung HW-S40T for audio features and specs, but the VIZIO SB4451-C0 received 8 out of 10. The SB4451-C0 can play audio from Spotify.

Connectivity

Wireless Internet connection is realized only in the SB4451-C0. Soundbars from this comparison have Bluetooth support. 1/0 HDMI inputs/outputs are in each of soundbars. The HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC) is implemented only in the SB4451-C0. Connecting devices via USB is possible in both models. We rated the connectivity of the HW-S40T at 6 out of 10, while the SB4451-C0 was rated 8/10.

Features

Each of the soundbars can be controlled using the application. Soundbars in this review are not equipped with a microphone. The VIZIO SB4451-C0 may become part of a multiroom system.

Multichannel surround

Dolby Atmos audio decoder support is not implemented in either the HW-S40T or SB4451-C0. Devices from this comparison cannot process surround sound due to lack of DTS:X. The HW-S40T was rated 5/10, while the SB4451-C0 received a mark of 4/10 for multichannel surround.
