If you have already decided that you want to buy a new soundbar, but still don’t know what exactly you want, the LG SN6Y vs LG SN5Y comparison is here to offer you two decent solutions. The LG SN6Y was rated 6.2, while the LG SN5Y has a rating 6. Soundbars have the same set of buttons - power, volume down, volume up, function.

Audio features

Each of the models under consideration has active amplification type. A noticeable difference is the number of channels that SN6Y has 3.1 and SN5Y has 2.1. These rivals can be compared in terms of power, 420 (overall) versus 400 (overall) according to devices. The built-in subwoofer is not implemented in any of these models. An external subwoofer can be connected to any of the units in this comparison. Rate 7 out of 10 received the LG SN6Y for audio features and specs, but the LG SN5Y received 6 out of 10.

Streaming services

Soundbars do not have AirPlay support. The units in this comparison do not support Spotify.

Connectivity

Features

Both devices have integrated voice control via Google Assistant. Each of the soundbars can be controlled using the application. The soundbars in this review are equipped with a microphone. The models under consideration cannot become part of a multiroom system.

Multichannel surround

Dolby Atmos audio decoder support is not implemented in either the SN6Y or SN5Y. Devices from this comparison cannot process surround sound due to lack of DTS:X. The same score of 5/10 was put to the soundbars for multichannel surround support.
