I had a chance to test and compare two models: Yamaha YAS-209 vs Samsung HW-T550 and this review should help people who are looking for a good soundbar. The Yamaha YAS-209 was rated 8.2, while the Samsung HW-T550 has a rating 4.5. The soundbars are equipped with a different number of buttons, power, source, demo, volume down, volume up, microphone mute for the YAS-209 and volume down, volume up, power, source for the HW-T550.

Audio features

Each of the models under consideration has active amplification type. By the number of channels, the devices do not differ. These rivals can be compared in terms of power, 200 (overall) versus 320 (overall) according to devices. The built-in subwoofer is not implemented in any of these models. The manufacturer of the YAS-209 provides a device control application. The Yamaha YAS-209 equipped with a microphone. The models under consideration cannot become part of a multiroom system.

Multichannel surround

Dolby Atmos audio decoder support is not implemented in either the YAS-209 or HW-T550. Devices from this comparison cannot process surround sound due to lack of DTS:X. The YAS-209 was rated 8/10, while the HW-T550 received a mark of 5/10 for multichannel surround.
