I had a chance to test and compare two models: Samsung HW-Q60T vs Samsung HW-T550 and this review should help people who are looking for a good soundbar. The Samsung HW-Q60T was rated 5.5, while the Samsung HW-T550 has a rating 4.5. Soundbars have the same set of buttons - volume down, volume up, power, source.

Audio features

Each of the models under consideration has active amplification type. A noticeable difference is the number of channels that HW-Q60T has 5.1 and HW-T550 has 2.1. These rivals can be compared in terms of power, 360 (overall) versus 320 (overall) according to devices. The built-in subwoofer is not implemented in any of these models. An external subwoofer can be connected to any of the units in this comparison. Rate 7 out of 10 received the Samsung HW-Q60T for audio features and specs, but the Samsung HW-T550 received 6 out of 10.

Streaming services

Soundbars do not have AirPlay support. The units in this comparison do not support Spotify.

Connectivity

Both models do not have a wireless Wi-Fi interface. Soundbars from this comparison have Bluetooth support. 1/1 HDMI inputs/outputs are in each of soundbars. As in the HW-Q60T, so in the HW-T550 there is the HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC). Connecting devices via USB is possible in both models. We rated the connectivity of the HW-Q60T at 7 out of 10, while the HW-T550 was rated 6/10.

Features

The manufacturer of the HW-Q60T provides a device control application. Soundbars in this review are not equipped with a microphone. The models under consideration cannot become part of a multiroom system.

Multichannel surround

Dolby Atmos audio decoder support is not implemented in either the HW-Q60T or HW-T550. Devices from this comparison cannot process surround sound due to lack of DTS:X. The same score of 5/10 was put to the soundbars for multichannel surround support.
