The Samsung HW-Q900T has 2/1 HDMI inputs/outputs versus 3/1 of the Nakamichi Shockwafe Ultra 9.2. The HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC) feature supports both devices. Both soundbars have a USB connector. For connectivity, each of the soundbars received a rating of 8/10. App control is available for the HW-Q900T. A built-in microphone is present only on the HW-Q900T. Multi-room is only available for the Samsung HW-Q900T.

Multichannel surround

Both devices have support for Dolby Atmos multichannel audio format. The surround sound technology DTS:X is supported by devices under review. For multichannel surround Samsung HW-Q900T got a rating of 9, and Nakamichi Shockwafe Ultra 9.2 10 out of 10.
