l would like to share my experience after comparing and testing two soundbars – KEF HTF7003 vs VIZIO SB3821-C6. The KEF HTF7003 was rated 5, while the VIZIO SB3821-C6 has a rating 4.5.
Soundbars have different amplification type - passive versus active respectively to devices. A noticeable difference is the number of channels that HTF7003 has 3.0 and SB3821-C6 has 2.1. The built-in subwoofer is not implemented in any of these models. Rate 6 out of 10 received the KEF HTF7003 for audio features and specs, but the VIZIO SB3821-C6 received 5 out of 10.
Soundbars do not have AirPlay support. The units in this comparison do not support Spotify.
Both models do not have a wireless Wi-Fi interface. Bluetooth support integrated in the SB3821-C6. Neither the HTF7003 nor SB3821-C6 has the HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC). We rated the connectivity of the HTF7003 at 4 out of 10, while the SB3821-C6 was rated 6/10.
None of these soundbars can be controlled using the app. Soundbars in this review are not equipped with a microphone. The models under consideration cannot become part of a multiroom system.
Dolby Atmos audio decoder support is not implemented in either the HTF7003 or SB3821-C6. Devices from this comparison cannot process surround sound due to lack of DTS:X.
