I had a chance to test and compare two models: Yamaha YAS-207 vs KEF HTF7003 and this review should help people who are looking for a good soundbar. Both soundbars received a score of 5 in our ranking.
Soundbars have different amplification type - active versus passive respectively to devices. A noticeable difference is the number of channels that YAS-207 has 2.1 and HTF7003 has 3.0. Soundbars have the same power - 100 W. The built-in subwoofer is not implemented in any of these models. Rate 7 out of 10 received the Yamaha YAS-207 for audio features and specs, but the KEF HTF7003 received 6 out of 10.
Soundbars do not have AirPlay support. Both devices do not have Google Play Music on board. The YAS-207 can play audio from Spotify.
Both models do not have a wireless Wi-Fi interface. Bluetooth support integrated in the YAS-207. The HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC) is implemented only in the YAS-207. Connecting devices via USB is not possible in both models. We rated the connectivity of the YAS-207 at 6 out of 10, while the HTF7003 was rated 4/10.
The manufacturer of the YAS-207 provides a device control application. Soundbars in this review are not equipped with a microphone. The models under consideration cannot become part of a multiroom system.
Dolby Atmos audio decoder support is not implemented in either the YAS-207 or HTF7003. Devices from this comparison cannot process surround sound due to lack of DTS:X. The YAS-207 has a modern feature such as DTS Virtual:X.
