The present review is aimed to compare two soundbars - Samsung HW-Q60T vs LG SN8YG that are meant to satisfy the needs of cinema and music lovers. Based on our rating, HW-Q60T has a total rating of 5.5 out of 10 versus 6.8 for SN8YG. The competitors' control buttons are different: volume down, volume up, power, source and power, volume down, volume up, function, play/pause, microphone, respectively.

Audio features

Both soundbars have active amplification type. A significant difference between the units in the number of channels, the Samsung HW-Q60T has 5.1 versus 3.1.2 for the LG SN8YG. Only the LG SN8YG can connect to the Internet via WI-FI. Rivals from our review have Bluetooth support. Each soundbar has 1/1 HDMI inputs/outputs. The HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC) feature supports both devices. Both soundbars have a USB connector. For connectivity, the HW-Q60T received a rating of 7/10 versus 8/10, respectively. App control is available in every soundbar. A built-in microphone is present only on the SN8YG. Soundbars do not have Multi-room support.

Multichannel surround

Only the SN8YG has a Dolby Atmos multichannel audio format support. A surround technology DTS:X is supported only by the SN8YG. For multichannel surround Samsung HW-Q60T got a rating of 5, and LG SN8YG 10 out of 10.
