The present review is aimed to compare two soundbars - Samsung HW-M360/ZA vs LG SN8YG that are meant to satisfy the needs of cinema and music lovers. Based on our rating, HW-M360/ZA has a total rating of 6.6 out of 10 versus 6.8 for SN8YG. The competitors' control buttons are different: volume down, volume up, power, input and power, volume down, volume up, function, play/pause, microphone, respectively.
Both soundbars have active amplification type. A significant difference between the units in the number of channels, the Samsung HW-M360/ZA has 2.1 versus 3.1.2 for the LG SN8YG. The output power is different and equal to 200 W for the HW-M360/ZA versus 440 (overall) W for the SN8YG. Competitors do not have a built-in subwoofer. Only the LG SN8YG can connect to the Internet via WI-FI. Rivals from our review have Bluetooth support. Only the SN8YG supports HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC). Both soundbars have a USB connector. For connectivity, the HW-M360/ZA received a rating of 5/10 versus 8/10, respectively. App control is available in every soundbar. A built-in microphone is present only on the SN8YG. Multi-room is only available for the Samsung HW-M360/ZA.
Only the SN8YG has a Dolby Atmos multichannel audio format support. A surround technology DTS:X is supported only by the SN8YG. For multichannel surround Samsung HW-M360/ZA got a rating of 4, and LG SN8YG 10 out of 10.
