I had a chance to test and compare two models: VIZIO SB2920-C6 vs LG SP7R and this review should help people who are looking for a good soundbar. The VIZIO SB2920-C6 was rated 4, while the LG SP7R has a rating 5. The soundbars are equipped with a different number of buttons, power, volume down, volume up, input, Bluetooth for the SB2920-C6 and power, source, demo, volume down, volume up for the SP7R.
Each of the models under consideration has active amplification type. A noticeable difference is the number of channels that SB2920-C6 has 2.0 and SP7R has 7.1. The built-in subwoofer is not implemented in any of these models. An external subwoofer connects to the SB2920-C6 via wired, but SP7R has wireless connection type. Rate 5 out of 10 received the VIZIO SB2920-C6 for audio features and specs, but the LG SP7R received 8 out of 10.
Soundbars do not have AirPlay support. The units in this comparison do not support Spotify.
Both models do not have a wireless Wi-Fi interface. Soundbars from this comparison have Bluetooth support. The HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC) is implemented only in the SP7R. Connecting devices via USB is possible in both models. We rated the connectivity of the SB2920-C6 at 5 out of 10, while the SP7R was rated 7/10.
None of these soundbars can be controlled using the app. Soundbars in this review are not equipped with a microphone. The models under consideration cannot become part of a multiroom system.
Dolby Atmos audio decoder support is not implemented in either the SB2920-C6 or SP7R. Devices from this comparison cannot process surround sound due to lack of DTS:X.
