I had a chance to test and compare two models: ZVOX SB380 vs LG SP7R and this review should help people who are looking for a good soundbar. The ZVOX SB380 was rated 4, while the LG SP7R has a rating 5. The soundbars are equipped with a different number of buttons, power, volume down, volume up, input for the SB380 and power, source, demo, volume down, volume up for the SP7R.
Each of the models under consideration has active amplification type. A noticeable difference is the number of channels that SB380 has 3.1 and SP7R has 7.1. These rivals can be compared in terms of power, 45 versus 580 (overall) according to devices. A built-in subwoofer is available only in the ZVOX SB380. Rate 6 out of 10 received the ZVOX SB380 for audio features and specs, but the LG SP7R received 8 out of 10.
Soundbars do not have AirPlay support. The units in this comparison do not support Spotify.
Both models do not have a wireless Wi-Fi interface. Bluetooth support integrated in the SP7R. The HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC) is implemented only in the SP7R. We rated the connectivity of the SB380 at 4 out of 10, while the SP7R was rated 7/10.
None of these soundbars can be controlled using the app. Soundbars in this review are not equipped with a microphone. The models under consideration cannot become part of a multiroom system.
Dolby Atmos audio decoder support is not implemented in either the SB380 or SP7R. Devices from this comparison cannot process surround sound due to lack of DTS:X. The SB380 was rated 4/10, while the SP7R received a mark of 6/10 for multichannel surround.
