I had a chance to test and compare two models: LG SN6Y vs LG SP7R and this review should help people who are looking for a good soundbar. The LG SN6Y was rated 6.2, while the LG SP7R has a rating 5. The soundbars are equipped with a different number of buttons, power, volume down, volume up, function for the SN6Y and power, source, demo, volume down, volume up for the SP7R.
Each of the models under consideration has active amplification type. A noticeable difference is the number of channels that SN6Y has 3.1 and SP7R has 7.1. These rivals can be compared in terms of power, 420 (overall) versus 580 (overall) according to devices. The built-in subwoofer is not implemented in any of these models. An external subwoofer can be connected to any of the units in this comparison. Rate 7 out of 10 received the LG SN6Y for audio features and specs, but the LG SP7R received 8 out of 10.
Soundbars do not have AirPlay support. The units in this comparison do not support Spotify.
Both models do not have a wireless Wi-Fi interface. Soundbars from this comparison have Bluetooth support. 1/1 HDMI inputs/outputs are in each of soundbars. As in the SN6Y, so in the SP7R there is the HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC). Connecting devices via USB is possible in both models. We rated the connectivity of the SN6Y at 8 out of 10, while the SP7R was rated 7/10. The manufacturer of the SN6Y provides a device control application. The LG SN6Y equipped with a microphone. The models under consideration cannot become part of a multiroom system.
Dolby Atmos audio decoder support is not implemented in either the SN6Y or SP7R. Devices from this comparison cannot process surround sound due to lack of DTS:X. The SN6Y was rated 5/10, while the SP7R received a mark of 6/10 for multichannel surround.
