I had a chance to test and compare two models: Sony HT-S350 vs LG SP7R and this review should help people who are looking for a good soundbar. Both soundbars received a score of 5 in our ranking. The soundbars are equipped with a different number of buttons, power, volume down, volume up, Bluetooth, TV for the HT-S350 and power, source, demo, volume down, volume up for the SP7R.
Each of the models under consideration has active amplification type. A noticeable difference is the number of channels that HT-S350 has 2.1 and SP7R has 7.1. These rivals can be compared in terms of power, 320 (overall) versus 580 (overall) according to devices. The built-in subwoofer is not implemented in any of these models. An external subwoofer can be connected to any of the units in this comparison. Rate 7 out of 10 received the Sony HT-S350 for audio features and specs, but the LG SP7R received 8 out of 10.
Soundbars do not have AirPlay support. The units in this comparison do not support Spotify.
Both models do not have a wireless Wi-Fi interface. Soundbars from this comparison have Bluetooth support. There are 0/1 HDMI inputs/outputs in the Sony HT-S350 versus 1/1 HDMIs in the LG SP7R. As in the HT-S350, so in the SP7R there is the HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC). We rated the connectivity of the HT-S350 at 6 out of 10, while the SP7R was rated 7/10.
None of these soundbars can be controlled using the app. Soundbars in this review are not equipped with a microphone. The models under consideration cannot become part of a multiroom system.
Dolby Atmos audio decoder support is not implemented in either the HT-S350 or SP7R. Devices from this comparison cannot process surround sound due to lack of DTS:X. The HT-S350 was rated 4/10, while the SP7R received a mark of 6/10 for multichannel surround.
