l would like to share my experience after comparing and testing two soundbars – Yamaha YAS-109 vs Klipsch Cinema 400. The Yamaha YAS-109 was rated 8, while the Klipsch Cinema 400 has a rating 4.6.

Audio features

Each of the models under consideration has active amplification type. By the number of channels, the devices do not differ. These rivals can be compared in terms of power, 120 (overall) versus 400 (overall) according to devices. A built-in subwoofer is available only in the Yamaha YAS-109. An external subwoofer can be connected to any of the units in this comparison. Audio features and specs of considered models we rated 5 out of 10 in our ranking.

The YAS-109 can play audio from Spotify.

Connectivity

Wireless Internet connection is realized only in the YAS-109. Soundbars from this comparison have Bluetooth support. There are 1/1 HDMI inputs/outputs in the Yamaha YAS-109 versus 1/0 HDMIs in the Klipsch Cinema 400. As in the YAS-109, so in the Cinema 400 there is the HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC). The connectivity of each of the models was estimated at 8/10.

Features

The manufacturer of the YAS-109 provides a device control application. The Yamaha YAS-109 equipped with a microphone. The models under consideration cannot become part of a multiroom system.

Multichannel surround

Dolby Atmos audio decoder support is not implemented in either the YAS-109 or Cinema 400. Devices from this comparison cannot process surround sound due to lack of DTS:X. The YAS-109 was rated 8/10, while the Cinema 400 received a mark of 6/10 for multichannel surround.
