l would like to share my experience after comparing and testing two soundbars – Denon DHT-S217 vs Klipsch Cinema 400. The Denon DHT-S217 was rated 4.8, while the Klipsch Cinema 400 has a rating 4.6.
Each of the models under consideration has active amplification type. By the number of channels, the devices do not differ. These rivals can be compared in terms of power, 40 (overall) versus 400 (overall) according to devices. A built-in subwoofer is available only in the Denon DHT-S217. An external subwoofer can be connected to any of the units in this comparison. Rate 4 out of 10 received the Denon DHT-S217 for audio features and specs, but the Klipsch Cinema 400 received 5 out of 10.
Soundbars do not have AirPlay support. The units in this comparison do not support Spotify.
Both models do not have a wireless Wi-Fi interface. Soundbars from this comparison have Bluetooth support. There are 1/1 HDMI inputs/outputs in the Denon DHT-S217 versus 1/0 HDMIs in the Klipsch Cinema 400. As in the DHT-S217, so in the Cinema 400 there is the HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC). We rated the connectivity of the DHT-S217 at 7 out of 10, while the Cinema 400 was rated 8/10.
The manufacturer of the DHT-S217 provides a device control application. Soundbars in this review are not equipped with a microphone. The models under consideration cannot become part of a multiroom system.
Dolby Atmos audio decoder is onboard the DHT-S217. Devices from this comparison cannot process surround sound due to lack of DTS:X. The DHT-S217 was rated 5/10, while the Cinema 400 received a mark of 6/10 for multichannel surround.
