l would like to share my experience after comparing and testing two soundbars – Samsung HW-A550 vs Klipsch Cinema 400. Both soundbars received a score of 4.6 in our ranking.
Each of the models under consideration has active amplification type. By the number of channels, the devices do not differ. These rivals can be compared in terms of power, 410 (overall) versus 400 (overall) according to devices. The built-in subwoofer is not implemented in any of these models. An external subwoofer connects to the HW-A550 via wireless, but Cinema 400 has wired connection type. Audio features and specs of considered models we rated 5 out of 10 in our ranking.
Soundbars do not have AirPlay support. The units in this comparison do not support Spotify.
Both models do not have a wireless Wi-Fi interface. Soundbars from this comparison have Bluetooth support. There are 1/1 HDMI inputs/outputs in the Samsung HW-A550 versus 1/0 HDMIs in the Klipsch Cinema 400. As in the HW-A550, so in the Cinema 400 there is the HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC). The connectivity of each of the models was estimated at 8/10.
None of these soundbars can be controlled using the app. Soundbars in this review are not equipped with a microphone. The models under consideration cannot become part of a multiroom system.
Dolby Atmos audio decoder support is not implemented in either the HW-A550 or Cinema 400. Devices from this comparison cannot process surround sound due to lack of DTS:X. The same score of 6/10 was put to the soundbars for multichannel surround support.
