l would like to share my experience after comparing and testing two soundbars – LG GX vs LG SNC4R. The LG GX was rated 6.5, while the LG SNC4R has a rating 5.2. Soundbars have the same set of buttons - power, volume down, volume up, function.
Each of the models under consideration has active amplification type. A noticeable difference is the number of channels that GX has 3.1 and SNC4R has 4.1. Soundbars have the same power - 420 (overall) W. The built-in subwoofer is not implemented in any of these models. An external subwoofer can be connected to any of the units in this comparison. Audio features and specs of considered models we rated 7 out of 10 in our ranking.
Soundbars do not have AirPlay support. The units in this comparison do not support Spotify.
Both models do not have a wireless Wi-Fi interface. Soundbars from this comparison have Bluetooth support. The HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC) is implemented only in the GX. Connecting devices via USB is possible in both models. We rated the connectivity of the GX at 8 out of 10, while the SNC4R was rated 6/10.
Each of the soundbars can be controlled using the application. Soundbars in this review are not equipped with a microphone. The models under consideration cannot become part of a multiroom system.
Dolby Atmos audio decoder is onboard the GX. The GX can work with surround sound due to DTS:X support. The GX was rated 10/10, while the SNC4R received a mark of 5/10 for multichannel surround.
