Samsung HW-S40T vs LG SNC4R review

l would like to share my experience after comparing and testing two soundbars – Samsung HW-S40T vs LG SNC4R. The Samsung HW-S40T was rated 5, while the LG SNC4R has a rating 5.2. The soundbars are equipped with a different number of buttons, volume down, volume up, power, source for the HW-S40T and power, volume down, volume up, function for the SNC4R.

Audio features

Each of the models under consideration has active amplification type. A noticeable difference is the number of channels that HW-S40T has 2.0 and SNC4R has 4.1. These rivals can be compared in terms of power, 100 versus 420 (overall) according to devices. A built-in subwoofer is available only in the Samsung HW-S40T. Rate 6 out of 10 received the Samsung HW-S40T for audio features and specs, but the LG SNC4R received 7 out of 10.

Streaming services

Soundbars do not have AirPlay support. The units in this comparison do not support Spotify.

Connectivity

Both models do not have a wireless Wi-Fi interface. Soundbars from this comparison have Bluetooth support. Neither the HW-S40T nor SNC4R has the HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC). Connecting devices via USB is possible in both models. The connectivity of each of the models was estimated at 6/10.

Features

Each of the soundbars can be controlled using the application. Soundbars in this review are not equipped with a microphone. The models under consideration cannot become part of a multiroom system.

Multichannel surround

Dolby Atmos audio decoder support is not implemented in either the HW-S40T or SNC4R. Devices from this comparison cannot process surround sound due to lack of DTS:X. The same score of 5/10 was put to the soundbars for multichannel surround support.
