l would like to share my experience after comparing and testing two soundbars – Samsung HW-J355 vs LG SNC4R. The Samsung HW-J355 was rated 6.6, while the LG SNC4R has a rating 5.2. The soundbars are equipped with a different number of buttons, power, volume down, volume up, input for the HW-J355 and power, volume down, volume up, function for the SNC4R.
Each of the models under consideration has active amplification type. A noticeable difference is the number of channels that HW-J355 has 2.1 and SNC4R has 4.1. These rivals can be compared in terms of power, 120 versus 420 (overall) according to devices. The built-in subwoofer is not implemented in any of these models. An external subwoofer connects to the HW-J355 via wired and wireless, but SNC4R has wireless connection type. Audio features and specs of considered models we rated 7 out of 10 in our ranking. The HW-J355 can play audio from Spotify.
Wireless Internet connection is realized only in the HW-J355. Soundbars from this comparison have Bluetooth support. Neither the HW-J355 nor SNC4R has the HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC). Connecting devices via USB is possible in both models. The connectivity of each of the models was estimated at 6/10.
Each of the soundbars can be controlled using the application. Soundbars in this review are not equipped with a microphone. The models under consideration cannot become part of a multiroom system.
Dolby Atmos audio decoder support is not implemented in either the HW-J355 or SNC4R. Devices from this comparison cannot process surround sound due to lack of DTS:X. The HW-J355 was rated 4/10, while the SNC4R received a mark of 5/10 for multichannel surround.
