Sony HT-G700 vs LG SNC4R review

l would like to share my experience after comparing and testing two soundbars – Sony HT-G700 vs LG SNC4R. The Sony HT-G700 was rated 6.2, while the LG SNC4R has a rating 5.2. The soundbars are equipped with a different number of buttons, power, volume down, volume up, input, Bluetooth for the HT-G700 and power, volume down, volume up, function for the SNC4R.

Audio features

Each of the models under consideration has active amplification type. A noticeable difference is the number of channels that HT-G700 has 3.1 and SNC4R has 4.1. These rivals can be compared in terms of power, 400 (overall) versus 420 (overall) according to devices. The built-in subwoofer is not implemented in any of these models. An external subwoofer can be connected to any of the units in this comparison. Audio features and specs of considered models we rated 7 out of 10 in our ranking.

Streaming services

Soundbars do not have AirPlay support. The units in this comparison do not support Spotify.

Connectivity

Both models do not have a wireless Wi-Fi interface. Soundbars from this comparison have Bluetooth support. The HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC) is implemented only in the HT-G700. Connecting devices via USB is possible in both models. We rated the connectivity of the HT-G700 at 8 out of 10, while the SNC4R was rated 6/10.

Features

The manufacturer of the SNC4R provides a device control application. Soundbars in this review are not equipped with a microphone. The models under consideration cannot become part of a multiroom system.

Multichannel surround

Dolby Atmos audio decoder is onboard the HT-G700. The HT-G700 can work with surround sound due to DTS:X support. The HT-G700 was rated 10/10, while the SNC4R received a mark of 5/10 for multichannel surround.
